Eco 4 Grants
ECO4 Grants For Heating & Property Upgrades Worth Up To £30,000+ Are Available!
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) has been in operation since 2013, with ECO4 being the latest and fourth version of the scheme.
It is a UK government-backed initiative where qualifying homeowners and private tenants on certain means-tested benefits may have their inefficient heating systems replaced for free.
ECO4 differs from previous versions by focusing its grants on bringing the least energy-efficient homes up to a minimum efficiency standard.
The scheme targets upgrading properties with EPC ratings of E-G, with the goal of improving them to a minimum rating of D, as outlined in the ECO4 mission statement. The good news is that eligible properties may qualify for significantly improved grants, with potential savings of up to 70% on annual energy bills. In some cases, individual homes have received total upgrades worth over £30,000, subject to meeting certain criteria.
Grants available Via ECO4
If you are a homeowner or private tenant living in a non-efficient home with an EPC rating of E-G and in
receipt of certain income-based benefits, you may qualify for 100% funding under ECO4.
This is especially important now that energy prices have more than doubled in 2022, and with the recent
announcement that the UK Government’s £2500 energy price cap will expire in 2023.
To switch to alternate, cheaper, and greener sources of energy, eligible homeowners
and tenants can receive full funding for products such as:
Solar Panel Grant
Under the ECO4 scheme, you may be eligible for free Solar Panel installation which can help you generate your own electricity and save up to 70% on your energy bills. Additionally, you have the option of adding battery storage for an extra cost, which allows you to store excess energy for later use.
Air Source
Heat Pump Grant
Air source heat pumps are an energy-efficient heating solution that works by extracting air from the outside and transferring it to heat water or radiators within your property. This technology not only saves you a substantial amount of money on your energy bills but also allows you to generate renewable heat while reducing your carbon footprint.
Home Insulation Grant
It’s important to make sure that the heat you generate stays inside your property. Depending on your property, you may be eligible for a combination of free insulation types, such as loft, cavity wall, underfloor, internal wall, and external wall insulation. By combining these insulation types, you could save up to 40% on your future energy bills at a time when energy prices are rising at their highest-ever rate.
